Sound Holes…

One of the things I am known for is lining most of my sound holes with a contrasting wood for visual appeal. I felt that this was a unique idea that I had come up with. Some years back, I received a phone call from Joellen Lapidus. I did not know her or of her building at that time. We had a lovely discussion and during the conversation she complimented my sound hole design and pointed out that she lined her sound holes since the 70’s. Although a bit different, sure enough she did and is known for providing Joni Mitchell a dulcimer. I guess there is nothing new ;?) I felt honored recently when Joellen ordered the above dulcimer from me.
